That's a good story.
Only a few years later Masta Ace RULED New York with Slaughtahouse. Still going strong.

Another solid produced True Hip-Hop Stories. This came out well, especially with the high-definition you are able to push with the 5D MKII.

Looking forward to more stories. Stay blessed.

I love the Vid Clip of Master Ace (His Story). I always wanted to know why M.C. Shan wasn't on that song.. I am very interested in Having a Hip Hop game show of some sort.. Not those easy questions but the Hip Hop Intellectual questions so we can solidify our culture.. Not just black, white or asian but, Hip Hop... If you can and do recieve this give me a holla back. I would sicerely appreciate any interest... You hold a significant key to the possibilities... Thank for you contributions to the culture and my life... MaucyBro...

THis video quality is off the hook. I know the 5D is crazy but in that light as well? Or did you use extra lighting?
Well this is a video blog to actually follow because it doesn't look like it's been shot with the iphone or some other crap most of the blogs are based on.

Bonkers!!! You're killing it!

Yo! D, good looking on keeping the essence of hiphop alive. We need these stories and clips of shows just to keep us old heads grounded. Hip Hop is losing its grip on our culture with all the cursing (not rapping) these cat's are doing now. Good look brother! KEEP THAT HEAT COMING....................

Great piece! Luv that gritty, grimey feel to it! Keep showing and telling the stories that need to be told!

December 15, 2008 | Unregistered Commenter1Luv

That was wonderful... We need MORE of this. Keep it comin'...

Nice, you've REALLY carved out a niche for yourself in this thing we call hip hop. I LOVE how clean it is. Much respect and love...

I love hearing stories like this. Sounds like there was a lot of competition in the room, and no dick-riding or love fests. Just a bunch of cats who felt they had the best rhyme. Serves Shan right that he later got ate by KRS-ONE. Kane and G. Rap went on to become among the most heralded lyricists of all time; Craig G was the one of the nicest MC's to never get large and Ace, yo I still have the INC Ride album.

[...] to put it down with his True Hip Hop storoes web series.  Some of the past stories include Masta Ace - Composing the Symphony and Doitall of the rap group Lords of The Underground.  The latest is of 80’s rapper [...]

Masta Ace did his thing on The Symphony. It's amazing how things work out, and it's also wild how hindsight works. I know Shan wished he was a part of that song after he heard it. Those "unknowns" took off once that song hit.

December 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMarlon Green

wooow , neva know that. (After all these years of playin' that record) Great video!!! Keep Up the good work!

January 2, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDJKidscratch

Wow....Let me see since it was '88 so Shan bowed out from the song during the time KRS was rippin' him in half. However Shan was tight in his day, he just couldn't stand in the wrath of The Teacher!

That's a great story. Have to thank shan for being on that pedestal it brought ace to the forefront & that take a look around album, fire. i was straight violator couldn't tell me nothing about bdp & the bx but that (postin' high, music man, me & the biz) those were classic joints from the juice crew.
