Wow- I went to art school by that Tower records years ago and I basically lived in there. You almost brought tears to eyes. The last album I got from there was Life After Death on double cassette the first day it came out. And standing by that window is where I started reading the credits. Thank you for that memory.
Peace I'm an m.C from Chicago, on th east coast right now, yeah that tower was one the best places to get real hip hop from besides DR.WaX but yo when it comes out I'M definitely coppin it, wish i could'a made it on the dvd,,, Chicago's where i'm from home to organized crime/ I organize rhymes while blastin at yo organs and spine/they poisened my kind with doses of swine and told us that wine/would help us focus our mind /you noticed they lied/i felt hopeless at times scopeing the blind/hopein to find a rope that would shine/that put us both in a bind......thats just a little of what i do..p.e.a.c.e
If that's the Tower on Wabash, I go way back with that place. I believe that was Loop or Rose Records before it was Tower. I bought a lot of tapes and CDs in that place back when they came in the long box. I grew up on the near south side and could walk to that Tower. The Afrocentric Bookstore was next door and back then that was one of the only places you could get the Source. I'd go home and listen to my new music and read the Source. This was back in the early 90s when I was in high school. Good Times
