A slice of Life

I shot this ten years ago. I credit this image as my one capture that made me want to pursue a career in photography. It's a lemon slice sitting on a sheet of paper towel. I used a desk lamp to backlight it.

Not what I was expecting... can you elaborate on why it was so inspiring? Is it touched up at all?

Wow, nice! Did you shoot in sepia or edit it to have sepia tones or is that how it came out? I've always wanted to do a shot like this. Do you remember the camera settings you used? I love the contrast of the edges of the lemon to the middle and the outer part of the photo.

You are truly blessed to have seen the "Light"! Photography is to you Purpose..it's always been there within you , it just took this photograph for YOU to see it! ~Ponchaveli ( Black Picasso)

I can see how it would have inspired you. And I think the lighting is amazing. I love when folks take every day things and turn them into something amazing. Art! You really should think about compiling all your photos one day and putting them in a book to sell. Or maybe an exhibit. I am no professional but I think your work is really good.

Nice picture, great use of space and composition. It's amazing how something so simple can be such an amazing focal point.

I love how not only can you tell that this is a lemon- but the way you lit it- it makes it almost seem like it's radianting light from within. (similar to the sun) the darken edges add a nice contrasting depth.
